The mighty hero finds themselves entering into the villain's lair, But they are not you, you my friend are the villain, From your control panel you can lead a glowing bomb straight to the hero, destroying them in the process.

Villain's lair is a short puzzle game where you must move platforms around using various gizmos to lead the bomb to the hero

This game is a part of GMTK Game Jam 2023 "Role Reversed" theme.

Objective

Guide the bomb through the lair to attack the hero before it explode.

Controls

  • W, A, S, D to control the platform
  • Spacebar to toggle the platform
  • To use mallet: Press Spacebar to make mallet turn green then use A and D to rotate the mallet and knock the ball.

It’s not too shabby for a gamejam game.

If I had to criticize anything, the controls aren’t intuitive. While it would definitely take more time to implement than keyboard controls, touch controls would have been nice, especially since I needed to keep a finger on the mouse for the restart button anyway.

The only major gripe I have for game play is the ā€œlevitationā€ blocks or what ever they might be called internally. Having no way to visually understand their AOE made them very frustrating. I spent more time on the last level than every other level combined.

With some juice, cleanup, and touch controls I could see this evolving into a decent mobile puzzle game.

I agree, i think the levitation thing could have been handled better, maybe a way to control the  power of them would have been good
